Project Bethak

Project Bethak highlights the beauty of unique identities, showcasing the richness of Pakistani and Kashmiri culture. This initiative celebrates the incredible journey of 60 women who have transformed their cultural heritage into stunning art. Through the fusion of traditional embroidery and Batik, these talented artisans embrace their identities, telling powerful stories that reflect their rich backgrounds.

Bethak embraces folk songs and storytelling, allowing women to rediscover their cultural roots and express their identities with pride. It stands as a vibrant testament to the strength and resilience of women, empowering them to express themselves without losing their essence, even amidst societal pressures for integration.

A unique part of the project was creating a “Bethak” that offers the audience a live experience of nostalgia, taking them down memory lane. The Bethak is now live at the Ashiana Community Project, transformed by Raqs to host and welcome everyone for an everlasting experience.
